You might have noticed, I haven`t done much racing in 2025.
Silverstone, Donington, Cadwell and Combe - Thats all I`ve managed this year because of holidays being booked and of course having Ian in the car too. To say I got the itch was a bit of an understatement, the thought of no motorsport from August till the end of the year was a bit much so I put the feelers out and decided to enter the Focus Cup.
It suited perfectly because.....for a fee - you turn upon the Friday, they sit you in your 185bhp Focus Diesel and off you go testing, rinse and repeat 4 times before the races on Saturday. in the Puma Cup we of course run Arrive and Drives however they are independant drives. In the Focus Cup the entire series is Arrive and Drive and I can`t fault the set up. It`s a serious outfit and they certainly know what they are doing.

With 22 x cars in my class and a range of abilities, it was tough to know where to pitch what I thought would be a good result. I decided to try and be in the pack, hold my own and give a good account of myself. The drivers I was up against have been running these cars all year so are very accustomed to their characteristics, which were very different to little Woodstock. The learning curve would be pretty steep.......so long as I could get some good running on Friday, find my feet and suss out the car - I should be ok.
Right?
Right??
